Kalahandi : Bidyutlata Dandasena, a member of the Shivani Mahila Mandal Self-Help Group in Michagaon village, Atigaon Panchayat, sadly passed away in October 2024. She had enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and had nominated her husband as the beneficiary under the scheme.
As per the insurance benefits of the scheme, a cheque of ₹2 lakh was handed over to her husband on Wednesday, 26th March 2025 by the Branch Manager Pritishpriya Sahu of Utkal Grameen Bank (UGB), Chichaiguda branch. This financial aid aims to support the bereaved family in their time of need.
The cheque distribution ceremony was attended by key officials and members, including MBK of Atigaon GPLF, Bank Mitra, CRP-CM, and several women members of the self-help group. Their presence underscored the collective efforts of the community in ensuring the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.
At the end of the event, Arati Takri, who serves as CRP-CM in Michagaon Anchalika Panchayat (B), was appreciated for her contributions. The meeting concluded with gratitude expressed to all those involved in facilitating the insurance claim and supporting the affected family.
